Food and service were great. Highly recommend the hundred year egg. The noise level was deafening. So unpleasant, and to make it worse, they had loud music playing over a speaker. We weren't able to speak to each other at all. And it was quite warm in there, which in July is no fun.

1st time here. Laid the groundwork for a next visit. Salt and pepper shrimp were so good. Got the dish with shells off, but next time I will do shelling. The Dan Dan Noodles were soooo good and spicy! The house special rice and lo mein were also good choices. Would love to go back and try their lamb and duck dishes. Can't go wrong with the crispy scallion pancake. The drink of choice today was the Deep In South: Tequila Plata, Simple Syrup, Passion Fruit, Fresh Lime

It's been so long since I last had sizzling spicy pork kidney – I've really missed that taste. So today I made a special trip back to my go‑to place, EMei Restaurant. One bite, and that familiar spicy, crispy, tender flavor exploded on my tongue. The kidneys were perfectly cleaned – no off‑putting smell at all – and cooked with just the right heat. Tender and springy, infused with the rich aroma of pickled chili and Sichuan peppercorns, it's the ultimate rice companion. This restaurant is a true gem in my heart. From the taste of the dishes – which speaks volumes about the chef's skill – to the thoughtfully chosen tableware that complements each dish, everything shows care and attention to detail. Looking around, the decor is understated yet tasteful: wooden furniture, soft lighting – every corner feels warm and thoughtfully designed. It's rare to find a place that brings together great food, visual pleasure, and a cozy atmosphere all at once. A restaurant this dedicated to cooking and hospitality deserves a five‑star rating. I'll definitely be coming back often, and I hope more friends get to enjoy this authentic, delicious experience.

Ordered takeout from EMei and it was still piping hot when I arrived home! Very large portions which I expected because 2 items were $32. The spicy chicken had a good amount of spice without being overpowering, I’d say its tolerable for most people. I love crispy small pieces of chicken, but I almost found these to be too small. Mostly breading not much chicken. The dan dan noodles were incredible. I got them without ground pork. They were still flavorful, a tad spicy and the noodles were cooked perfect. I’d definitely like to come back in the future, sit at the restaurant and eat family style with some friends!

We made a reservation for 2 a couple nights before and you’ll never regret that because they get packed! I wanted some Chinese food and glad we decided to not just get take out. Our server was quick and very polite. Once ordered the food came out very fast! We ordered with the intent on sharing, so our table was a little cramped but that’s not a real complaint. I especially liked the braised pork belly with boy choy. We ended up trying the cabbage appetizer and it’s definitely tastier than it looks. I couldn’t stop picking it at instead of the protein. I’ll try a different dumpling next time but they were delicious. Overall I’d come back to try more food - but not without a reservation.
